Maurice McNab

Upon graduating from Riverside High School, Maurice enrolled in Canisius College, Buffalo, NY where he majored in Political Science. While at Canisius College, Maurice participated in the African American Cultural Society and the United Way Organization. Maurice also tutored struggling middle school students with math and reading, including Anderson Winston, who went on to become a physical therapist in California. His greatest love, Maurice coached baseball in the Inner City Youth Organization for 6 years, winning championships in three consecutive years, rolling up a 45-1 record during that stretch.
Maurice’s ball players went on to serve in the United States Marines, attend college and work in successful industries. As a senior, Maurice was featured in Canisius College's annual publication, Our Best, and recognized for outstanding community service.
Encouraged by his mentor and friend, the Honorable Kevin M..Carter, Maurice enrolled in the University of Buffalo School of Law, where he was elected to the Student Bar Association. Maurice also served in the Economic Development Clinic, where he helped to provide innovative legal solutions to small businesses and upstarts.
After graduating from law school, Maurice was drawn to the Upstate by Teresa Nesbitt, Esquire, when Maurice was offered an opportunity with South Carolina Legal Services to serve as Staff Attorney, where he was largely responsible for working with members of the Upstate Fatherhood Coalition. While at legal services, Maurice became dear friends with Upstate legends Richard Kerns and retired Family Court judge Robert “Bob" Jenkins, Sr.
Always the entrepreneur, Maurice opened his own law practice in 2004. The Law Offices of Maurice McNab, “the small firm with the big fight", has represented hundreds of Upstate residents in personal injury actions, criminal defense cases, divorces, adoptions and estate planning and probate matters. Maurice’s greatest professional achievement came when he helped to reverse a new client's 25-year prison sentence. Maurice has chaired the Urban League of the Upstate’s Housing Committee, and now volunteers with the SC Telco Federal Credit Union.
Maurice is a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, where he serves on the Trustee Board. Maurice gives credit to his loving mother, caring family, friends and supportive community for all of his accomplishments. Maurice loves the Lord God and strives to place HIM first in all areas of his life.
